Students follow a programme of postures which extend and align the body, open the joints, lengthen the muscles and create space in the body for better breathing and organ function. Postures are taught safely with more difficult postures gradually introduced as stamina and flexibility improve. You will only try difficult poses when you are ready, but you will be encouraged to extend your own capacity. Yoga helps you to feel better in your present state, but it is also a process of development and transformation. Be ready for change. Classes are done in bare feet and end with relaxation. Please call Ali to discuss any health problems before coming to class. Mats and equipment are available to borrow but students need to bring a blanket.

ALL CLASSES ARE HELD AT LEWES SUBUD CENTRE,
26a STATION STREET, LEWES, BN7 2DB
CLASS LEVELS – Beginners, General and Intermediate
BEGINNERS - for those with little or no prior experience of yoga.
GENERAL classes are mixed ability classes, suitable both for beginners and for those with varying levels of experience. Where more demanding poses are taught, differing levels of ability and experience will be taken into account so that students can work at a level which gently challenges them without risk of injury.
INTERMEDIATE classes are suitable for students with at least a year’s experience of yoga classes. Students must have an established shoulder stand practise and have made at least a start on learning head stand (unless this is inadviseable for medical reasons).
